Tom reupped this beautiful old piece in honor of the appearance of Indicted Trump as a kind of Fonzie figure making women faint and reducing men to helpless envy at his badassery. |
For God's sake read the indictments, Marco. They detail an astonishing range of crimes, worse than Nixon's, committed by an organized mob infiltrating the highest levels of government. The justice system had to address it. It is the justice system, not politicians, who "decided". pic.twitter.com/w9MHxZ2uXk

Literally 30 years, starting with the stupid "Travelgate" investigation https://t.co/VmJqsTQUoV That's how old this "destructive new era" is. If you want to issue warnings, issue them to your own caucus.

Or the still more damning one produced by HIS OWN FUCKING COMMITTEE https://t.co/bWqBrFe2DV

Oh please don't start targeting candidates in both parties and inaugurating a destructive new era, fetch my smelling salts! Once the man who dared to make dick jokes about Donald Trump, not that that was what was needed, now enrolled as a mouse in the concern troll brigade.
Then there's Teddy, scourge of the "élites":
There aren't so many "illegal aliens" in the equation, Ted. Vast majority of border crossers are asylum seekers like your Communist father when he was fleeing from right-wing Batista dictatorship.

He was no rocket scientist, but he certainly deserved the legup the US government gave him in his escape from tyranny.
— Yas We Can @yastreblyansky.bsky.social (@Yastreblyansky) August 27, 2023
You're such an elitist maniac you don't realize people like your father, willing to work humble jobs, deserve protection. Why must they be rocket scientists?
LOL Ted

And some material we haven't been through in a while, inspired by the stupidity of Vivek Ramaswamy:
Beyond this just not being how time works, there's a more fundamental confusion here: The Constitution was about retrenching the social unrest & democratization (for white men) embodied by the Revolution. You dont have to be Charles Beard to understand this.
— Jeff Stein (@JStein_WaPo) August 24, 2023
There's a lot of that going around. Traditional elitist Republicans didn't use to commit that kind of illiteracy.

Amazing huh. Maybe the test will be written by a DeSantis team.

Not splitting hairs. A huge difference. Ask your hero Patrick Henry what he thought of the Constitution. https://t.co/v0EZ8bCWag

It was an essentially liberal document, and the opposition of slaveholder conservatives like Henry and George Mason (who feared, correctly, it would eventually lead to the abolition of slavery) was earned. Anti-constitutionalism of Trump-Eastman GOP goes right back to this.

Of course the original 1856 Republican party was the most radical-left organization ever to reach US government, devoted to huge infrastructure development, increased immigration, free college for working men, and more. Sad things happened when it turned pro-rich after 1876.

Have you read Wealth of Nations? You should. You’re probably a Marx student, whatever. I don’t care who you are or what you say. I do know that whatever you say it isn’t the final word, there is always more. You can site something, I can site something, etc. However, some facts…

Or you could learn to spell "cite" and then talk.
