Thomas Nast, 1872, "A Few Washington Sketches—In the Senate", via Senate Collection (where you can embiggen the image more effectively than here). |
This thread has achieved something like virality, even as the issue seems to have been put aside for the next couple of months.
Actually the debt limit was exceeded in August 2019, when it was $16.6 trillion, the last time YOU VOTED TO SUSPEND IT, under McConnell's instructions. About $10 trillion has been added to the national debt WITH YOUR VOTE since then, plus $2 trillion without it last spring.

This is 100% on Republicans, McConnell in particular, who has been insisting ten years on suspending the debt ceiling instead of raising it, your crazy tax cuts, your mishandling of pandemic and economic crisis, your phony accounting.

Another day, another stupid Republican senator:
What does "codify socialism" mean, Marco? I've been following Biden plan since 2020 campaign and I can't even guess what you're talking about. Can you illustrate with some concrete examples?

My only question is who are you trying to protect? A friend? A relative? A donor? https://t.co/FRpbpydOX7

And Greenwald's not a senator, but he might as well be at this point:
Not totally narrow perhaps--don't forget "Corporations are people too, my friend!"

I hate this game, but if I'm picking NBA dissidents, Kyrie Irving, who questions whether the earth is really round and tells fans to "do their own research", does not rank as high as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who's done research & questioned systemic racism since before Glen was born. pic.twitter.com/faobCAJvyb
