The makers of this window need to use this in their ads. Gotta give the person credit for trying. And knowing when to give up. https://t.co/xAlIQipz4R

White lefty academic basically saying that the fires are being started by people like him. I think he’s right. https://t.co/iYVOj56ln5

to be alive, but to be young was very heaven.

Sadly, no, it sucked. But the young well-protected white folk--I like to think it's mostly from private colleges--think they missed something great.
Think I agree with you over her--they should know what their constituents need them to say and say it. As for the myth of the 60s! 30-year-old Bernie Sanders clones running every meeting in every little town, or trying to take it over, droning about "the working class".

Joe Crowley got arrested at a protest for Dreamers. So did John Lewis. Was that silly? Why not, you know, just vote for the DREAM Act?

As a Gen Xer, one of the Boomer things I reacted against was my fellow Gen Xers at college telling me we were supposed to be protesting things and the fact that we weren’t was somehow very important. This came from people who, looking back, I would guess went on to vote Nader.

They're what some are calling "cosplay socialism" and I call "performative leftism" and Scott Lemieux has some other pungent terms. Anyway concerned with personal branding rather than getting anything done.
The one utterly precious thing America has now that it didn't have then is black people with serious political power and knowing how to use it. I hope Democrats don't lose this opportunity because of a few white kids who are more interested in dramatizing their disaffection.
