Senator Grassley has built his reputation on protecting the integrity of the Inspector general process. He runs a committee that could do something about it. But he is strangely silent about these purges. I hope when I get to 86 I'm not afraid of anyone or anything like Trump— Joe Lockhart (@joelockhart) May 16, 2020

worth recalling that Walpin firing followed a unanimous and bipartisan request from the board ( Corporation for National and Community Service) he was IG of? https://t.co/s8cBvniwM6— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
Really hard to find any support for the allegation that Obama fired three inspectors general in three weeks https://t.co/bB8aYVCAyG The scuttlebutt at the time was that he didn't nominate fast enough for positions that fell vacant in Bush admin (and Senate failed to confirm).— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
Not sure how it became so hard to find (actually two firings and one leashing, but the other firing has really vanished), but it might have something to do with the way the Americorps program Walpin was attacking at the time of his firing was run by then Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson, regarded as an Obama ally because guess why; and Johnson and his wife, education reactionary Michelle Rhee, subsequently showed up on Trump's good list, so they don't want to talk about it any more.
and like all trolls, offered evidence he's wrong, he changes the subject and alleges imaginary coup d'état instead. Thank you for playing, troll.— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
And yet another change of subject— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020This astonishing piece of outsider art seems to be staking the claim that President Trump succeeded in stopping an even deadlier virus in 1996, although that one was imaginary. Is Dan Scavino an even bigger idiot than his boss?
And Grumpy would never lie about his motives would he? https://t.co/NWMFPkj4ZK— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
Just like that other guy who was totally not a crook. He just lost a lot of confidence all of a sudden. https://t.co/nBufy3KBI6— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
*You're— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
Not quite, with inspectors general. In fact he hasn't fired Linick yet. What he did last night is send Congress required notification of his intention to fire Linick in 30 days. Congress gets to weigh in.— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
But it's true Congress needs to pass Chris Murphy's Inspector General Independence Act to strengthen their hand against criminal presidents like Nixon and Trump.— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
The funny thing is the dude blocked me after that, but in some inefficient way that allows me to copy all his stupid material as long as I had already replied to it.
Long as I'm up, a somewhat crispier formulation than Thursday's of one of the issues of the Flynn ruckus:
Indeed amazing. Thiessen defies logic and the laws of nature. Flynn admitted guilt in a number of crimes beyond the one count of lying to the FBI in the plea agreement, notably secretly serving as an agent of Turkish government while he was on Presidential Transmission Team.— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
We don't know exactly what was going on, but at least four of the 10 or 11 counts of obstruction of justice detailed in the Mueller report were aimed at stopping the Flynn investigation. It's pretty clear Trump had reasons for wanting to do that.— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
And now, with the dismissal of the charges Flynn pleaded guilty to twice, it looks like Trump has succeeded in killing the investigation, with Barr's help, after all. https://t.co/LiiJQLjabE— Leaves of Yas (@Yastreblyansky) May 16, 2020
